Nancy asks, "What exactly is 'oriental flavor'? And more importantly is it racist if it tastes really good?" These are indeed the things that keep me up at night.
Some things are obviously racist, like anti-miscegenation laws, or nooses in trees, or Rush Limbaugh. Other things are obviously not racist, like rocks, and trees, and kittens. (Well, maybe not all trees, shady buggers.) But there's a whole world of objects, statements, and sundry cultural phenomena that fall somewhere in between. These are the things that make you go, "Is it racist?"
